The Hamburgs and their close relatives the Old English Pheasant Fowl and the Redcap are very old breeds and are also one of the most attractive. The gold and silver colours and the black markings are a combination which results in great beauty.

Unfortunately, they are now rather scarce and efforts should be made to revive them. With this aim in mind the author has traced their history and explained what is required to comply with show requirements.
